Dr Griffiths graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1998 and has trained in Medical Oncology at The Christie in Manchester. The subject of his doctoral thesis was the immunobiology of renal cell carcinoma and he maintains an active research interest in this disease. He is the principal investigator for a number of phase II/III clinical trials in lung and renal cancer and also is the Clatterbridge clinical lead for ‘unknown primary’ cancers.

He joined The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2010 and specialises in renal, lung and ‘unknown primary’ cancers. Clinics are run at the Clatterbridge site and he also runs the acute oncology service at Wirral University Trust Hospital.
