We have published 'Our Commitment: patient experience, engagement, inclusion & involvement 2022-2025'. The document has been co-produced with patients, relatives, carers and staff and sets out four promises about how we will enhance patient experience over the next four years. It was developed through a series of workshops and builds on the themes identified by people who took part in the workshops.

​Dr Liz Bishop, Chief Executive of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is setting off on the West Highland Way this June; a 96 mile walk to raise money for the specialist hospital’s Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.

Scientists and radiographers at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre’s Aintree site are preparing to provide treatment with a brand new, state of the art radiotherapy machine for people across the north Mersey area. The machine, known as a linear accelerator or ‘linac’ has been installed and is being tested to provide tailored and precise radiation treatment for people needing radiotherapy for breast, prostate and other cancers from the end of the month. A £2.2 million investment, the upgraded machine is more efficient, will provide higher quality imaging and is capable of faster radiation delivery which will provide faster treatments to many patients.

Rob Gore, 40, from Warrington, was diagnosed with bowel cancer after going to the GP about his rapid weight loss and some blood in his poo. Rob is being cared for at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre's Halton clinic and has shared his story for Bowel Cancer Awareness Month to encourage other people not to ignore symptoms out of fear or embarrassment. He says he would encourage anyone with persistent changes in bowel habit to get checked out.

There are some temporary changes affecting travel to and from Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool for the next 10 days due to roadworks on Pembroke Place. The road will be closed coming up from town to the hospital. As a result, the car park shuttle bus will use the bus stop OPPOSITE the Dental Hospital instead of the one outside it. Drivers dropping off or picking up at the hospital will need to come down Crown Street heading into town.

Oliver Cooper-Grace, 22, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2021 after weeks of headaches and dizzy spells. He is now under the care of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and has only missed a couple of Everton's home matches since his diagnosis. Oliver has shared his story to raise awareness of brain tumours.
