The team that developed Cheshire & Merseyside’s new specialist cancer hospital – the 11-storey Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter – has been shortlisted for a major national award. They are finalists in the Built Environment category of the HSJ Partnership Awards 2021, which recognise outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.

Professor Christian Ottensmeier has been appointed to lead a team of researchers working on immunotherapies for cancer as part of a major investment by NHS partners and the University of Liverpool. Prof Ottensmeier is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Meet Josie, an A-Level Student who has volunteered at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool since it opened back in June. Josie welcomes people into the hospital, meeting and greeting patients and delivering items dropped off by loved ones to our inpatients.

Our expert Lung Cancer Advanced Nurse Practitioner Team are finalists in the ‘Cancer Nursing’ category of the Nursing Times Awards 2020, which will take place virtually on Wednesday 18 November 2020. The awards final is particularly timely as November marks Lung Cancer Awareness Month and the North West has some of the highest rates of lung cancer in the country.
