The keys to Cheshire & Merseyside’s major new specialist cancer hospital in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter have officially been handed over to the NHS, following the completion of construction.

When nursing student Rebecca Norman found out about an opportunity to join the frontline of the NHS to support the response to coronavirus, she didn’t hesitate for a second.

The Government has now updated its guidance and have said that people who are shielding can now go outdoors for exercise as long as strict social distancing is maintained. Monday 1st June marks Dietitians Week, an annual celebration to highlight the work dietitians, dietetics and those that support them do. Here at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre we have a team of 8 Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant working as part of our wider Cancer Rehabilitation and Support Team (CReST) to provide specialised support and education to our patients.

A major new specialist cancer hospital is set to open in Liverpool on 27th June to play a vital role in the second phase of the NHS response to coronavirus (COVID-19) by providing dedicated capacity for cancer care. The new Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool (CCC-L) will ensure the NHS in Cheshire and Merseyside is well placed to resume normal clinical activity by providing protected facilities for people with cancer, many of whom are particularly at risk if they catch coronavirus.
