With the support of individuals with a learning disability The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust has created a short film to help patients with learning disabilities gain confidence in attending hospital for treatment.

We are incredibly proud of our hard-working nurses, who are dedicated to the on-going support of patients and their families, whilst also providing the very best in cancer care for people in our region. One of those who embodies these principles is Jackie Rooney, our Head of Nursing and Safeguarding and a recent recipient of the accolade of Queen’s Nurse. Jackie is one of only 25 nurses in the region to receive the accolade.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is to launch four new clinical studies which will investigate the effects of COVID-19 (coronavirus) on people with cancer. Money raised by the Trust’s charity, The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, will be used to fund the first phase of the studies which will take up to 18 months to establish results that could help shape the future of cancer care across the country.
